Acceleron (Canada)

Acceleron's flagship product is Boomerang, a Domino-enabled expense reporting solution that helps companies manage and process expense reports. After selling large licenses to Philips in Holland, and Proctor & Gamble's European headquarters in Brussels, Acceleron retained The York Group to evaluate the best location for their European head office. A detailed analysis of Holland, Brussels and the UK was completed, including such factors as access to potential clients, cost of doing business, taxation issues, availability of qualified employees, etc.

AdherSIS (France)

AdherSIS has a range of solutions for secure, off-line back-up. A Sun Business Partner, AdherSIS has sold its products to some of the largest companies in France. The York Group was brought in to develop a market entry strategy for the U.S., prior to AdherSIS's planned IPO in France. A multi-tiered channel development program was structured in order to maximize the impact of each of their product groups.

Alpha Software (U.S.)

Alpha Software is one of the oldest and most well-respected software companies in Massachusetts. With well over one million units of software sold, the company has been successful in making customers significantly more productive than they would have been with competing development tools. The York Group was retained to implement a comprehensive channel program that would produce more revenues from existing partners in Asia and Europe, and lay the foundation for recruiting productive partners in new markets.

AnyWare (Canada)

Founded in 1999, the AnyWare Group team has been developing and delivering technology and telecommunications solutions to public and private sector companies throughout the world since our inception. Based in Saint John, New Brunswick, the company is rapidly expanding its presence in the United States through the development of an indirect sales channel. The York Group worked with AnyWare to structure its channel strategy, build profiles of the best partners, and develop a step-by-step go-to-market strategy.

Ascent Solutions (U.S.)

Ascent Solutions, Inc., ported the PKZip compression algorithm to most other platforms, including MVS, VSE, VM, AS/400, Unix and the Mac, creating a suite of cross-platform compression tools that sell for prices of up to $30,000 depending on platform and CPU. The York Group established and helped manager their international distribution network, with agents covering more than 60 markets. ASi was subsequently acquired by PKWare.


AUCOTEC (Germany)

AUCOTEC is a software company that is focused on developing software systems and complementary consultancy for planning and operating electrical engineering and process automation plants. With revenues of €120 million, and offices in several countries, AUCOTEC saw that developing a network of indirect channel partners could accelerate its growth. The York Group was engaged to recruit partners in the UK.

balzam.com (Norway)

balzam.com is a specialist in the Internet delivery of personal, time saving and skill enhancing services to employees via their employer. These services help make employees more productive, while relieving the stress related to balancing personal and professional obligations. The company has established its business model in the Nordic market, and retained The York Group to complete feasibility studies for France and the UK. The York Group subsequently established balzam in the UK as a first step in its international expansion, an assignment that included setting up the office, identifying and negotiating with strategic partners, and presenting the company to potential investors. Balzam was purchased by Scandinavia's largest insurance company.

Blue Ocean Software (U.S.)

Blue Ocean was a rapidly growing software company with a suite of help desk and automated inventory tools. At the beginning of 1999, Blue Ocean had business partners in 13 countries, but an unsatisfactory level of international revenues. We completed an audit of their current channel partners and strategy, and developed a comprehensive action plan to improve the international operations. This plan was implemented by their new International Business Manager, and sales increased from $400K in 1998 to $7.6 million in 2002. Blue Ocean was purchased by Intuit for $170 million in cash.

Brainshark (Waltham, MA)

Brainshark is a VC-funded company that provides software, delivered as a service, which allows business people to create and deliver business communications more effectively. More than 500 companies, including one-third of the Fortune 100, use Brainshark services for lead generation, sales training, and to improve communications. The York Group was retained to develop and structure an indirect channel program for Brainshark's international expansion, as well as recruiting channel partners in the UK.

Carry-a-Tune (U.S.)

Carry-A-Tune Technologies is the developer and publisher of a unique new family of software products that use specialized computer-aided pitch tracking to teach people how to sing in tune and on tempo. These products combine patent-pending technology with entertaining, animated on-screen vocal coaching to teach people at all levels to sing better. The products are being distributed through major retailers in the U.S., such as Best Buy, Fry’s Electronics, Target and others. The York Group was retained to analyze market entry options for Japan.

CAZ Software (Australia)

Established in 1977, CAZ Software had grown from a start-up development bureau offering timetabling software development for Western Australian independent schools to a successful medium-sized business with over 40 employees and a substantial national and international client base. The York Group was retained to help sell the firm to a larger company with the resources to accelerate the international expansion of the business. After an extensive search in the U.S. and the UK, The York Group was able to close the sale with a publicly-listed UK software company.

Compulink (India)

Compulink Systems is emerging as one of India’s leading software product companies. Its flagship product, Whizible, is an enterprise application for Services Execution Management that helps service-centric organizations to manage operations and collaborations. Whizible integrates the key processes of a service-centric company, including project management, process compliance and interaction and collaboration management. As part of its preparation for an international launch, Compulink retained The York Group to structure its channel development program.

Cubeware (Germany)

Cubeware Analysis System delivers a modular package for building intuitive Business Intelligence solutions. This compact system is fast to implement yet flexible enough to meet a company's individual requirements at an affordable price. With a large client base in Germany and the rest of Europe, Cubeware engaged The York Group to develop a channel program and a go-to-market strategy for the United States, as well as the actual recruitment of channel partners.

Dell Computers (U.S.)

Dell’s telephone-based direct sales model was working very well throughout Europe, with the exception of Germany, where consumers were unwilling to spend $2000 with someone they hadn’t met in person. The York Group was retained to establish a network of 76 resellers across Germany who could meet with customers, take and process the order.

Eclipse, a division of JetForm (U.S.)

Eclipse, based in Atlanta, developed and marketed print design and management output tools for the AS/400. With a strong domestic client base, Eclipse retained The York Group to develop and manage an international reseller channel. In less than a year Eclipse had qualified resellers in twelve countries, with sales generated in Europe, Asia and South Africa. Eclipse was then purchased by JetForm, the world leader in forms management.

Elan Software (France)

French software company, Elan Software retained The York Group to find and manage a US reseller for XFP, a MES (Manufacturing Execution System) that is sold to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics companies. After identifying 151 potential organizations, our search process produced six highly qualified prospects, resulting in an exclusive agreement with significant sales targets for each of the first three years.

ENCOM Wireless (Canada)

ENCOM Wireless Data Solutions has been leading innovation in the wireless data industry for over fifteen years. It has built its business on a heritage of industrial radio applications, and has used that experience and technical knowledge to become the leaders in providing wireless solutions for the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) market. After ENCOM had established a large network of channel partners in the United States, it retained The York Group to assist in the development of a channel management program that would produce a higher, and more consistent, level of revenues from existing and new partners.

eRPortal™ Software Group

The eRPortal™ Software Group is a developer and leading provider of web and mobile-enabled asset management and materials management automation software solutions. With a rapidly growing client based built through direct sales, the company wanted to ramp up its sales through an indirect channel in the United States. The York Group was retained to customize a channel development program best suited for their technology and pricing structure.

FileFlow™ (Norway)

FileFlow™ develops and offers the world's fastest and most secure Internet-based delivery and storage systems for any kind of file, as well as solutions for enhancing the workflow for any company with access to the Internet. By powering the Internet with a faster, simpler, more flexible file delivery option, FileFlow is becoming the leading global provider of solutions for large file transfers. The York Group was brought in to refine FileFlow's channel strategy, and to implement processes and documentation that would improve its channel recruitment and management program.

Firetrust (New Zealand)

Firetrust Limited is a leading creator of email security products. Proudly 100% New Zealand owned, its highly acclaimed MailWasher and MailWasher Pro anti-spam tools have helped millions of PC users to rid the world of spam. With the introduction of a new, server-based product, Firetrust retained The York Group develop a detailed international channel program that could be used as a blueprint for successful global expansion. The result was a fully-documented program that was capable of being implemented by one person, saving Firetrust hundreds of thousands of dollars in anticipated annual expenses.

Formula Telecom Solutions (Israel)

Formula Telecom Solutions (FTS) is a global provider of convergent Telecom Management Solutions for Mobile, Fixed-Line, and Advanced Services Operators. FTS provides a range of versatile solutions to the market, which include convergent Real-time Prepaid and Postpaid Billing & CRM, Order Management, Infrastructure Management, EBPP Software, as well as state-of-the-art Call Center implementations. The York Group was retained to provide direct sales support for major accounts in several European markets.

Foundation Systems Ltd. (UK)

Foundation Systems has developed and markets Tempo, an emerging technology that meets the automation needs of professional services organizations by providing a flexible resource planning, project accounting, billing and management information solution. By gathering business critical information at the source, Tempo provides managers with the knowledge to increase business performance and client satisfaction through efficient utilization of resources and skills. With strong success in its domestic market, and a growing network of resellers in a number of international markets, Foundation Systems retained The York Group to provide an in-depth assessment of the U.S. market, and what would be required to increase the likelihood of success. This included a competitive overview, a detailed mapping of the potential clients and where they were concentrated geographically, a description of the most appropriate channels and the main players in each, and a comprehensive program for recruiting and supporting an indirect channel.

Grantlun (U.S.)

Grantlun offers a wide array of construction management solutions including consulting services, software applications, training, and custom software development - all based on its founder's 35 years of construction and construction related systems design experience. The York Group successfully recruited a qualified channel partner in the UK.

GTE (Taiwan)

GTE operated a ceramic dip semiconductor packaging plan in Taiwan, for chips used in its own products. When ceramic packaging became to expensive for use in telephones, they switched to plastic, and as a result had no need to maintain the plant in Taiwan. The York Group was brought in to structure and arrange the financing for a successful management leveraged buy-out, with a significant portion of the financing being provided by Taiwanese financial institutions.

Honeywell (U.S.)

Honeywell had developed a large number of software products and technologies that were used within the enterprise either to run internal processes or as a component of a product or product line. The products and technologies were extremely diverse in nature and were in various states of market readiness. The York Group was retained to 1) evaluate the portfolio of technologies to determine which of them had the best commercial potential; 2) develop a sales strategy for the selected products; 3) market the products in key markets.

Hyland Software (U.S.)

Developed by Hyland Software, Inc. OnBase® is enterprise content management software that combines integrated document management, business process management and records management in a single application. The York Group recruited Hyland’s Scandinavian distributor, who became one of their most productive partners worldwide.


Intuit (U.S.)

Intuit is a $2 billion software company with products that transform business and financial management for small businesses, accounting professionals and consumers. After its acquisition of Blue Ocean Software in 2002, Intuit retained The York Group to accelerate its channel program in Europe. Numerous new partners were recruited in France, Germany and Italy.

ISBC (France)

ISBC is one of the leading IT recruitment firms in France, with more than 50% of its business coming from international clients such as HP, Cabletron, Amdahl and Sybase. The owner had reached retirement age, and retained The York Group to sell the company. The York Group was able to close the sale at a price that was almost 50% higher than the owner had expected.

ITS Zydeco (U.S.)

ITS’ product lines include Zydeco Enterprise, Zydeco Verticals, Zydeco for ACT! and 400/Manager. Distinct yet complimentary niche markets are targeted, rendering the need to address both the document management industry, the midrange database access market, and the mortgage lending and motor freight trucking markets individually. The York Group successfully recruited channel partners in six countries, including France, Germany and Australia.

Lambda DSS (Israel)

Lambda DSS is an innovative provider of advanced state-of-the-art information security software products suite that safeguards and maintains corporate desktop environment. Lambda’s groundbreaking product, Lambda SentinelTM, literally prevents in real-time, the unauthorized or inadvertent theft (“data leakage”) of proprietary information from inside or outside the enterprise. The York Group was retained to develop a comprehensive, global channel launch, and an international business plan that would lay the foundation for venture funding.

Lanrex (Australia)

Lanrex has developed a suite of utilities for Cincom's Supra database. The products sell for $40-50,000 per user. The York Group arranged and negotiated an agreement with Cincom in the UK, resulting in a market penetration of over 30%, with additional sales in other European markets.

Lincoln Services (France)

Lincoln Services is a software development and services company specializing in data center operations and network-related consulting services to French companies. With 40 employees and annual revenues of $5 million, it had built a stable client base including well-known companies such as Renault, France Telecom and AXA. Despite the difficult economic conditions in the technology sector, The York Group was able to find six qualified buyers, and the transaction was closed within five months of taking on the assignment.

Lynx Group (UK)

Ascent, a subsidiary of the £225 million Lynx Group, is a rapidly growing vendor in the CRM space, with a technology that focuses on managing marketing campaigns. With a strong client base in the UK, Lynx brought The York Group in to help develop a strategy for launching their product in the U.S., and to provide them with a comprehensive program to prepare for developing and managing an indirect channel.

Manhattan Associates (U.S.)

Manhattan Associates, an Atlanta-based company with annual revenues of $200 million, is a global leader in providing supply chain execution and collaborative commerce solutions to streamline every link in the supply chain, with more than 800 customers at over 1,100 facilities worldwide, including many of the world's leading manufacturers, suppliers and retailers. The York Group was retained to establish a centralized European support and personnel office in the Netherlands, which included setting up systems for payroll, tax registrations, pension plans, employment benefits, a car lease program, HR manual, and visas. During this process we acted as the Manhattan European Personnel office, interfacing with service providers, staff and HR headquarters in Atlanta. In addition, we advised Manhattan on cultural differences between The Netherlands, Europe and the USA. We assisted in cutting through red tape and introduced Manhattan employees to useful contacts in the Netherlands.

Maxtel Software (New Zealand)

Maxtel Software’s OnTarget provides a suite of powerful management tools for the Quick Service and Hospitality businesses that want to maximize their bottom line, and is used by clients in 12 countries. Maxtel is expanding internationally through a network of channel partners, and retained The York Group to structure a channel program to improve the performance of its existing resellers and to provide the processes necessary to recruit partners in new markets.

MD&A (South Africa)

The MD&A developed factory services that represented a superior set of automated Year 2000 tools for COBOL and NATURAL in the mainframe environment. The tools covered every step from impact analysis through code conversion and rectification. MD&A had a specific need for a strong systems integrator partner in Singapore, and The York Group was able to recruit a highly qualified partner.


MProof (The Netherlands)

Founded in 1997, Mproof is a specialist in the development, distribution and support of Adaptive ITIL certified Service Management software for IT organizations. As the leading player in the Netherlands, and with clients worldwide, Mproof wanted to leverage the increasing importance of ITIL standards to develop a focused network of channel partners. The York Group provided Mproof with a comprehensive, fully-documented channel development program that it used to successfully recruit partners in Spain. The York Group was then retained to recruit partners for Mproof in France and Belgium.

n&k Technology (U.S.)

n&k Technology, Inc., of Santa Clara, California, manufactures advanced metrology tools for semiconductor, photomask, flat panel display, and data storage industries. The company's high resolution optical metrology equipment are used for film thickness, n and k, phase shift, trench depth, CD and profile measurements. The York Group was first retained to review and modify their Asia-Pac channel program, and the to structure a direct sales and sales management program for the U.S. market.

NZTE (New Zealand)

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the New Zealand government's national economic development agency. Through its network of offices worldwide, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise aims to grow New Zealand's economy by boosting the capability of businesses and regions and facilitating their sustained and profitable participation in overseas markets. One of its major initiatives is Health IT, and The York Group was retained to structure and implement an extensive survey of its member companies, analyze the results, and to provide an international perspective on the potential for New Zealand companies.

Ontario Exports (Canada)

Ontario Exports Inc., the export development agency of the Government of Ontario, helps firms grow, prosper and create jobs through international trade. Export success is a journey, not a destination and it takes more than luck to become globally successful. The York Group was retained to work with a group of Ontario companies that would be exhibiting at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany. The York Group identified, qualified and recruited prospective partners to meet with the companies during CeBIT.

Orbis (UK)

Orbis is a leading supplier of on-line gaming systems, with large clients such as Ladbrokes and Corals in the UK. The York Group was retained to determine the marketability of their software in other countries. The York Group evaluated the potential in more than a dozen countries, and provided an in-depth report and a comprehensive marketing strategy for launching the product in the four most likely markets. Orbis has since been purchased by News International for £100 million.

PentaWare (Italy)

CH Ostfeld is the publisher of PentaZip, the most complete solution for Windows-based compression. The York Group established distribution in France, leading to the first sales outside Italy; provided on-the-ground assistance in launching a PR campaign in the U.S.; and managed the translation of the product into German in preparation for establishing a distribution network.

Platinum Technology (U.S.)

Platinum Technologies is one of the largest software companies in the United States (recently purchased by Computer Associates) with a wide range of applications and tools for enterprise-wide network management. The York Group (Singapore) was retained to provide technical and pre-sales training to Platinum employees in Singapore and Australia.

ProMetrics (UK)

ProMetrics developed a revolutionary TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) technology for the desktop. It seemed clear that the technology could be copied by larger competitors, making it difficult for ProMetrics to build a dominant market position quickly enough to remain a significant player in the market. The decision was made to find a potential partner with an existing global distribution network. The York Group approached a number of prospective acquirers, of which Platinum Technology emerged as the best candidate and a successful transaction was concluded.

Reveal Software (Australia)

Reveal Software is a privately owned Australian company and began operating in 1988, primarily in the area of providing consulting & programming services to System/38 and subsequently AS/400 users. Offering a complete suite of operations and management software for the AS/400, Reveal’s customer list includes Bear Stearns, Nike, Avon, Monsanto and Toyota. The York Group recruited and helped manage channel partners in many countries around the world, including the U.S., Singapore, Argentina, France and Scandinavia. Sales in the U.S. alone more than doubled the size of the company.

RG Software (U.S.)

RG Software introduced the world’s first commercial anti-virus products, and produced industry leading technology until its acquisition by PCSupport.com. The York Group recruited an helped manage a network of resellers across Europe, Latin American and Asia-Pacific.

SCORT (France)

SCORT is a venture-funded French ISV, and it develops and markets a successful legacy integration technology, Mainframe Integrator, which had already been chosen by over 100 corporations in France and Spain. The York Group was retained to expand SCORT’s presence in Europe by recruiting and helping manage strong systems integrators in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.


Scribe Software Corp (Bedford, NH)

Scribe Software Corporation, founded in 1996, provides configurable migration and integration software solutions to help people within an organization share customer data, to better focus - and take action - on critical business events. As the dominant supplier of migration and integration tools in the Microsoft Dynamics market, Scribe saw the need to expand its presence in Europe. The York Group was retained to evaluate the best locations for a European office; provide a detailed analysis of the market potential in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark; and to develop and recommend an actionable go-to-market strategy.

Secure Computing (U.S.)

Publicly traded Secure Computing (NASDAQ: SCUR) had been managing its Asian business from an office in Australia. The San Jose, California-based company worked with the Singapore office of The York Group to help further establish Secure Computing's presence in the market. The York Group, Singapore handled Secure Computing's office administration, market-area advertising, public relations as well as overall seminar management - from invitations to post seminar lead qualifications

Software of Excellence (New Zealand)

Software of Excellence is the world’s leading supplier of dental school software with customers in the United States, Australia, South East Asia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Its customers range from major public health providers and the military through to professional dentists working in group and sole practice. The York Group was retained to complete a market viability assessment in the United States in order to establish the basis for their market entry strategy.

Solit (South Africa)

Solit has achieved exponential growth and installations on four continents technology and products required to deliver a full employee/customer self-service solution. This includes a mature suite of fully integrated portal, workflow and document management applications that enable companies to consolidate, manage, analyze and process information across and outside of an enterprise - including Business Processes, Content Management, Data Warehouse and Legacy applications. Spescom (South Africa)

Spescom DataVoice, a subsidiary of the Spescom Group, delivers cutting-edge recording technology to a large variety of business sectors. Its voice transaction management products can be used by a 10 seat Call Centre or for the internationally distributed divisions of an enterprise. The York Group has completed a number of engagements for Spescom, including a review of its channel management program, and the in-country qualification of a prospective channel partner in Denmark.

Sunopsis (France)

Sunopsis is an ETL (Extraction Transformation and Loading) / EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) product. It is used by companies to perform inter-application messaging, typically, to read data from an application database, process the data and feed the compiled data into a target database. For example, it may read data from a general ledger and payroll packages, aggregate costs and feed the results into a decision support datamart for financial reporting. Sunopsis had established a solid customer base in France, and The York Group was brought in to develop an international reseller recruitment and support program, with an initial focus on the UK.

Swan (France)

Swan’s Vision64 ensured that applications on PCs and servers throughout the enterprise are always ready for their users by proactively repairing file and configuration-related problems. This "self-healing" technology increases productivity and lowers TCO through dramatic savings in IT management and support costs. The York Group recruited high-quality resellers in Scandinavia, Brazil and Australia. Swan went public on the French stock market and reached a market value of $1 billion.

Telelogos (France)

Telelogos develops MediaTransfer, a professional software package which automates, optimizes and administers exchanges between a company's central information system and the computer devices of its remote users. Among their hundreds of clients was McDonalds in France, and The York Group was retained to sell MediaTransfer to McDonalds in Germany. The result was a six-figure enterprise license.


TBS Mobility (United Kingdom)

TBS was established in 1993 to exploit two emerging technologies - the handheld computer and GSM mobile communications. It is now firmly established as Europe's leading developer for portable computers using the Windows CE and PocketPC operating systems. The York Group was retained to develop a comprehensive channel development program that TBS can use to build out a network of qualified partners in key markets worldwide.

THEOS Software (U.S.)

THEOS Software has been a pioneer in developing multi-user, multi-tasking operating systems, and their technology has been used by ISVs around the world to develop faster, more efficient applications. The York Group was retained to structure a channel program that would encourage its existing partners to increase sales of their applications in order to grow the license revenue stream for THEOS.

UCS (South Africa)

UCS, one of the largest software companies in South Africa with revenues of US$80 million, dominates the retail industry, with solutions for most major segments, including gas stations, fast food, FMCG, and others. With limited room for additional growth in its domestic markets, international expansion was a priority. The York Group was first retained to develop a comprehensive channel program that could be implemented in their selected markets, and then to undertake a review of the United States to determine whether it was a logical market to enter. The result was a decision to focus on other markets first.

UniSolv (U.S.)

UniSolv marketed a document management system that had achieved success in the U.S. The York Group was retained to identify and recruit a prestigious primary partner for the major European markets. After an extensive search and negotiations, an exclusive agreement with a subsidiary of Thomson covering France, Germany, the Benelux and the United Kingdom.

WINCAP (France)

WINCAP automatically documents software applications that run on IBM, ICL and Bull mainframes, DEC VAX’s and AS/400’s. It generates a knowledge base that provides a clear and organized graphical view of Information Systems (IS). WINCAP greatly simplifies application development and maintenance, and change management. The York Group recruited high-quality channel partners in Australia, Singapore and Korea.
